San Juana Melgoza,
LMFT #107454

I completed my Master of Science in Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy at the University of Phoenix in 2014. I am currently enrolled in the Couples and Family Therapy Doctoral Program at Alliant International University.

My clinical specialties include struggles with intimacy, sex therapy, porn/sex addiction, trauma/PTSD, affairs, life transitioning, and parenting. I have focused my doctoral studies on relationships, attachment, childhood trauma, and pornography use in intimate relationships. I work with individuals and couples depending on client needs. My clients find that my approach promotes safety through my warm, calm, authentic, and transparent stance.

I believe that life provides many opportunities that are meant to help us transform psychologically. I highly value personal growth and believe my endless search for personal growth informs my practice. The more I know, the more I enhance my clinical knowledge and provide quality treatment. I believe that, as humans, we are meant to have fulfilling lives. Unfortunately, events happen that distort our ability to see possibilities and can further guide us to unhealthy behaviors. Regardless of the situation, it is never too late to regain control of your life.

I have been trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Brainspotting. My practice is informed by Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) and Transformative Couple Therapy (TCT). I have found that these models perfectly align with my philosophical views of psychotherapy. My holistic approach promotes a profound transformation experienced through all the senses and enhances unique gifts. I believe that fulfilling lives lead to fulfilling intimate relationships, ultimately promoting the safety and love essential for raising children.
